SPEAKER’S BIOGRAPHY

Hojat Heidari-Bafroui is a Ph.D. candidate and research assistant at the Microfluidics Laboratory at the University of Rhode Island. His research work includes developing paper-based microfluidic devices for nutrient detection in marine environments and introducing platform technologies for the detection of biomarkers. He received his B.S. degree from Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, and his M.S. degree from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, both in Mechanical Engineering in 2009 and 2012, respectively.  He also worked in the industry for several years before joining the PhD program at URI.
